ABOUT THE TIBURON
|
The USS Tiburon is a Sci-Fi / Community service organization, launched January 1, 2005. Since then
the Tiburon has been defining itself, finding it’s place here in Denver, Colorado and in Starfleet:
The International Star Trek Fan Association Incorporated. The Tiburon’s focus is fun, family, and
service. We want to make sure that the fun of fandom never goes away, that family remains, and of
course something that is central in the fandom, community service, remains a major focus.

The Tiburon's regular events include our general meetings, game nights, region meetings with other
area ships/clubs, and Sci-Fi Friday's where we get together and watch Sci-Fi programming. See our
Calendar for more detials.

finances, and oversees the day to day operations of the chapter.
The Executive Officer assumes all duties and responsibilities of the Commanding Officer when
the Commanding Officer is unavailable, and may act as a spokesman for any individual member or group
of members who wish a topic to be brought before the Command Staff when those members have not found

Shark Marine Strike Group (MSG) and must follow all directives set by the STARFLEET Marine Corps.
He/She is responsible for assuming the role of Executive Officer if the Executive Officer is not

OPERATIONS
|
|
The Operations Department maintains and disseminates (as necessary) ship’s records, mission logs,
educational records, promotional records, heads the chapters Promotion and Award Board, and conducts
all of the ships votes.
|
TACTICAL/SECURITY
|
The Tactical/Security Department's mission is to protect the Tiburon and its crew, and to ensure
the safety of any dignitaries or ambassadors. Working side by side with the Marine contingent,
security also ensures the safety of away teams. Additionally, Security maintains order at all
ship meetings, and on a more martial note, Security is responsible for the investigation of any
criminal activity on the Tiburon. The Chief Security Officer also acts as the Sergeant-at-Arms.

other departments.

Passing information quickly and accurately, using a variety methods as needed to the membership.
The Chief Communications Officer is also charged with producing and distributing the chapters

|
The Chief Science Officer acts as the chapters Finance Officer. He/She is responsible for setting
up and maintaining a bank account in the ship’s name, and is one of three people in the club able
to sign the checks to make them valid (the Commanding Officer and Executive Officer are the other
two).

The Chief Medical Officer maintains the organizations first aid kit, and maintains pertinent
medical histories of members.
|
COUNSELING
|
|
The Counselor is responsible for maintaining and supporting the Cadets of the chapter, and the
morale of the crew.
|
MARINES
|
The 888th was formed to be a more fluid reaction force. While maintaining a normal command structure,
(OIC, DOIC, SgtMaj.), the rest of the MSG is a loose team of four squads that can be formed into as
large or small a unit as needed. A typical deployment force for the 888th is two squads, a "go" squad
and a back-up or "ready" squad. The remaining two squads are held in reserve or can be deployed in a
support role.
